It's Giveaway Time!

Once again, I've been a little absent in the blogging department! But the exciting news is that I FINALLY have my giveaway ready! And I did fit in some quality crafting time over the weekend too...so more posts are on the way.

Anyway, let's get to it! Lately I've been experimenting with resin jewelry. I was a little nervous that this wouldn't turn out so well. BUT...I think it worked. And I figured out a few things to do differently next time to make life easier. I am showing two pieces here and the winner will have their choice of the two.  I have just a few rules for the giveaway:

I have yet to master the art of photographing jewelry, I can promise that these look even better in person! Both have a black satin cord that is approximately 24 inches tied in a knot in the back. And I won't feel bad if you take it off the black cord. I have a favorite silver ball chain that I wear & frequently change the pendants. That's where I would wear one of these for sure!

Each one is 1 3/4" long by 5/8" wide

Here's a closer look - Choice #1 is what I call the "Purple Swirl" pendant. (Once again, I must emphasize that my photography skills are lacking!) I would describe the pattern on this one as similar to a tie-dye.

The New Year Giveaway & MORE!

As promised long ago, I do have an upcoming giveaway! But first, I'm taking a little "Blogging Break" to organize some thoughts & ideas for 2012. I promise that my giveaway will be up and going very soon!

Speaking of organizing, I REALLY REALLY want to make organizing my home one of my New Year's resolutions. I tried an "organization challenge" last January but failed miserably! There was a very cool blog that had a daily organizational challenge - I totally FELL IN LOVE with it...and then quickly fell OUT of love. I couldn't keep up. I didn't want to spend $50 (or even $20) a week on trendy little bins, trays & labels to organize my closets. And let's face it, I had a hard time throwing certain things out. I do believe there's a little bit of a hoarder in me somewhere! :)

But the wake up call came last week when I was looking for something in our bathroom closet & came across a box of motion sickness medicine. Its expiration date was 1998! We moved into our current house in 2002. Hello??! Something is not right with this picture! Now throw in the fact that we actually use our bathtub for a laundry hamper, and I decided something must be done. (We do have a shower as well in case you're wondering - the tub is rarely used. We shower daily, however.)

So one of my goals for 2012 is to organize my home. I will share my journey on my blog, and I can promise I WON'T have a daily challenge. (It will be more like a weekly "suggestion".)

I'm also hoping to get my blog a little more organized with a new look and some regular weekly topics. I'm still working on ideas for that, so any suggestions are welcome!

What was the first album you ever owned?


This is tough to remember - but one of the first albums I remember having (and it was an actual record album!!) was Billy Joel's "Glass Houses". (Remember "You May Be Right" and "It's Still Rock & Roll To Me"?) I can still picture the cover in my head! If you aren't old enough to remember that one...here it is. Gotta love that 80's music!!
