Mr. Halloween

One of my favorite holidays  has got to be Halloween.  Dressing up & pretending to be someone you're not, what could be more fun?  I love to help my kids put together costumes - my son has gone as Harry Potter for 4 years in a row, and I have to say that the Gryffindor robe I made him has gotten a LOT of use.  And not just on Halloween.  When he was younger, he'd just wear it on a Saturday for the heck of it.  Often times out in public.  My daughter, on the other hand, is strictly a store-costume girl.  We have several princess dresses in the closet to prove it.

Decorating my house is also one of my Halloween favorites.  Unfortunately, let's just say my flair for interior decorating isn't quite up to Martha Stewart standards.  A prime example is this cute little wooden Halloween cut-out:

I've had this little guy for - no kidding - at least 5 years.  Every fall I take it out with all the other spooky things, thinking I'll finally get around to painting it, and it will be the greatest Halloween decoration ever.  It usually sits on my dining room table for a few weeks before I finally give up.  As you can see, some progress has been made.  But not much.  Will this be the year that Mr. Halloween is finished at last & eligible to make his appearance on our walls?

  1. I am sure that one of the kids would LOVE to help you finish painting! Although you might not be happy with the results. ;)
