Oh Christmas Trees!

After a couple recent trips to a local thrift store, I managed to collect a bunch of supplies (MORE than I need, I'm sure!) for Christmas craft projects. Here's a very simple Christmas tree wall hanging I made last week:

The frame worked out perfectly. I anticipated getting something ugly and painting it, but this one already has that weathered look to it and worked out great! It did come with this beautiful country blue mat underneath. I saved it in case the "country blue and ducks" theme ever comes back in style! Hey, you never know! :)

I took out the glass & mat, and glued some thrift-store burlap onto the piece of cardboard underneath.

After that I used up some scraps of fabric and ribbon I had. The sparkly red trees were made from some felt left over from my Wreath #1 project, and the green felt was from a "train table" we made for my son during his Thomas the Train years...about 8 years ago! (Yes, I save everything!) I didn't take pictures during all the cutting and pasting, but that's really about all I did - cut and hot glue! I wanted a simple Christmas decoration to hang on the wall, and I think these trees do the job!
