American Pickers!

Anyone who is a fan of the History Channel has heard of American Pickers...and you probably know that their shop is right here in Iowa! I'm not a huge fan of the show, but Harry is. (Have I mentioned before that both my kids are future hoarders?) Anyway, last week while Ginny was at Grandma's house in Nebraska, he BEGGED me to go visit Antique Archaeology, the Pickers' store in LeClaire, Iowa. I have to say, I expected something much larger and more full of junk. It was on the smallish side, and not a ton of stuff for sale. I guess when they have an extremely popular cable TV show, most of it never even makes it to Iowa but is sold to serious collectors elsewhere. I think they probably make more on t-shirt sales than they do on "picker" merchandise! Anyway, it was a neat place and Harry is busy planning his future career as a picker!
